Daylight Dies disbands
Although our last album was released in 2012, we held out hope that we’d eventually manage to create another album worthy of our extremely high standards. Despite a pandemic actually bringing some of us closer together, life events and their aftermath ended up making it even more of a challenge. Barre has decided, for his own mental clarity, to leave. Daylight Dies is the result of a rare alchemy between songwriters who pushed each other past what any of us would have settled for alone, and Barre was an important part of that. As such, we have decided to disband rather than continue on in an altered form. Music from us will continue within our other projects. As for me: a new Gökböri album is being mixed, and Egan O’Rourke, Andrea Chiodetti, and I—proud of how MMXX turned out—have begun writing songs for something new.
I am profoundly grateful to our fans and all those who supported us through the years. Thank you for an unforgettable journey, and I hope the music continues to resonate for years to come.
